Fire prevention: it is forbidden to light fires on the Grand Site

During dry periods, vegetation can catch fire very quickly. A carelessly discarded cigarette butt, a barbecue, or a campfire can cause a fire that endangers visitors, residents, vineyards, and natural areas.

 

Stay on the trails

The trails have been designed to protect the most sensitive natural environments. Leaving the paths promotes erosion, damages the calcareous grasslands, and can disturb wildlife. The vineyards are also private property and working areas: please do not enter them.

 

Keep your dog on a leash

Even a very calm dog can frighten wild animals, disrupt the breeding of certain species, or approach herds. A leash also protects your pet, wildlife, and other visitors.

 

Leave the stones in their place

The dry stone walls, emblematic of the landscape, provide refuge for numerous insects, reptiles, and small animals. Moving the stones or building cairns alters the site and subsequently requires intervention from management teams.

 

Camping and bivouacking are prohibited.

The Grand Site is a protected natural area that is not equipped to accommodate camping or bivouacking. Nighttime presence disturbs wildlife, increases the risk of fire, and does not guarantee the safety of visitors.
