Kamishibai Festival

KAMISHIBAI FESTIVAL (young audience)
From April 8 to 10
Charnay-lès-Mâcon, Chasselas and Solutré-Pouilly (Maison du Grand Site)
Let your family be swept away in a whirlwind of stories and images thanks to the magic of this traveling paper theater from Japan, where illustrations unfold to the rhythm of the storyteller's voice. Tales for toddlers, reimagined and humorous stories, coming-of-age narratives, and journeys through the seasons: a poetic interlude to share during the holidays.

The companies:
- Anémokori Company
The Anémokori company was born in the Chabrières forest in Creuse in the spring of 2023.
It is presented by Emmanuelle Firdion, an actress and storyteller for young audiences. Anemochory is the natural phenomenon of plant seed dispersal by wind.
She calls these stories, which unfold through her gestures and voice, "whirling" and "flickering." She lets them settle and take root in the minds and bodies of her young audience so they can continue to grow with them. She speaks of the need to talk, to communicate, to know one another, and to create a connection between ourselves and nature. Accompanied by her Kamishibai, small wooden theaters of Japanese origin, she moves close to her audiences so that art and poetry can find their way everywhere.
- Black Panther Company
The heart of the Black Panther Company is a comedy duo. As inseparable as Twopaw and Patachon, Maria Lerate and Jérôme Fayet share a passion for physical theater, burlesque, and clowning. Humor and situational comedy allow them to explore a wide range of topics, particularly for young audiences.
The dozen shows created by the company are aimed at everyone, beyond cultural differences.
Over the years, in more than 10 years of existence, the Black Panther has developed a specific know-how: bringing together around a fiction, in the same place and at the same time, people of all ages, often from different generations.
Compagnie de la Traverse
The company was founded in 2018 in the southern Cévennes, before moving further up, to the Upper Allier valley, in Haute Loire. Between light, shadows, and sound, Traverse loves to play with them to create worlds. Illustration and paper cutting blend with words and music to tell stories. Those that come to us…always poetic and often political. These stories are rooted in territories and even when they leave our minds, they are always based on reality.
