Tarandro and his family are preparing to leave for a long journey. There, at the foot of the Great Rocks, the shaman predicts an incredible horse hunt! Will they manage to escape the great lion and the cave bear? Will they withstand the cold and the storm?

This prehistoric tale immerses us in the harsh daily life of our ancestors and the encounters between clans. Where human differences could give rise to moments of magical and festive sharing. A thrilling, warm and documented adventure!

The genesis of the tale:

The story of Tarandro was born in 2020. The initial objective was to approach Prehistory, a period which is not always easy to access for young people, in a fun way. The text was produced by the Grand Site team in order to ensure the accuracy of the speech and to highlight the discoveries of the archaeological site of Solutré throughout history.

The authors:

Camille D'Orazio (author): Responsible for cultural mediation since 2011 at the Grand Site de France Solutré Pouilly Vergisson, she runs and develops mediation materials for all audiences.
Élodie Balandras (illustrator): Born in Mâcon, she has lived in Haute-Savoie since the age of 8, but maintains a deep attachment to the village of Solutré, the cradle of her childhood. His latest album A New Spring for Pépé Ours (Didier Jeunesse) is a tribute to his grandfather as well as a nod to the Roche de Solutré. After studying applied arts at the Émile Cohl School (Lyon), she started as an illustrator-graphic designer.
