The dominant geographical location of Charnay-Lès-Mâcon, sometimes with a view of the plain of the
Saône, sometimes the panorama of the mountains and rocks of the Grand Site de France Solutré Pouilly Vergisson,
make it a privileged place for walks. All along the way, you will discover the rich heritage
of this city established since Gallo-Roman times and which deserves to be paid attention to, step by step.
Stages of the journey
1 - “Charnay-Condemine” car park, a former station on the Mâcon-Paray-le-Monial line. The railway line was decommissioned in 1970. Take the greenway towards “Clos Feuillens”.
2 - Take the dirt road towards “Charnay-lès-Mâcon Bourg”. At the first crossroads, turn left after the equestrian center fence. At the second intersection, follow right towards the Sainte-Madeleine Church.
3 - Take the direction “Chamgrenon”. Turn right to go around the church, then take the road on the left. At the first intersection, turn right onto Chemin de la Tour de l'Ange and continue straight ahead. Take the dirt road to enter the Champgrenon area. After 300m, at the first crossroads, turn right and continue on the path until you reach the road.
4 - Take the road on the right. At the intersection, continue right. At the next crossroads, take the grassy path and continue up to the road then follow to the right to find a grassy path. You pass in front of the Fontaine Mathoud wash house. Turn left, then right at the second crossroads and continue straight on until “Chemin de la Gare”.
5 - Go towards “Charnay Voie Verte” by taking the street on the left.
6 - Return to the parking lot
