Portrait of the Grand Site

Where are you from? I was born in Mâcon and grew up in Prissé. I studied in Lyon and Annecy, that's where I met my art teacher, Manon Lisa. Why this job? What is your background? Since I was little, I have been very hands-on. I love materials, mixtures. I am into composition, into the choice of materials. I like to collect lots of things to make something new and unexpected. I never had mosaic lessons, I did them when I was little at home, then I studied visual arts and I am a graphic designer by trade. For my 20th birthday, I wanted to return to the material. So I returned to mosaics and I met Manon Lisa in Annecy, who is an art mosaicist, and from there I trained and became a professional. Today, graphic design is for me, for my posters, my website, but otherwise I only live from my mosaics. I started with small ones, and today bigger and bigger ones. I create custom pieces for individuals, professionals and communities. I also like to lead group workshops with different audiences. Why here? When I wanted to set up my own business, I was lucky enough to be able to rent a small room in Prissé, on the banks of the Petite Grosne, so I came back with great pleasure to the region. Today I have moved to a larger and brighter workshop but still in my village, in Prissé along the greenway. I love my region because of its rich diversity. Your favorite place on the Grand Site? I like "my" little Solitude in Prissé, at Château Lamartine, it's a very nice place in the middle of the vineyards where a few cadoles are still hidden not far away. I like our rocks for walks and its varied activities. What else... a few artists' studios and always good restaurants... In fact, I don't really have a favorite place, but I have many! Your best memory on the Grand Site? For the arrival of my first child, before rushing to the maternity ward, I wanted to sit at the foot of the Vergisson rock. Suitcase loaded, we admired the landscape while chatting and counting the contractions. I wanted to take a deep breath of fresh air before leaving for the hospital. It's a moving memory!
