The Solutré Prehistory Museum has been awarded the "Tourism and Disability" label since 2012, an official distinction covering all four types of disabilities (hearing, mental, motor, and visual). This label demonstrates the museum's commitment to providing a inclusive, accessible and quality experience to all of its visitors.

  • Un visit booklet in large print, presenting the main themes of the museum
  • Un tactile book (haptic, in braille) to discover Prehistory in Solutré
  • 4 educational kits "From Matter to Object" containing facsimiles and reproductions on themes presented in the museum: flint knapping, prehistoric tools, prehistoric daily life, prehistoric arts. 4 audio guides allowing independent exploration of the educational kits
  • A dedicated offer

Groups of children for one day (morning and afternoon)

  • Sensory tour of the museum to discover the site, objects and materials from Prehistory through touch, sound and smells, thanks to a activity kit developed by the Livre-Atelier association: the story of Paléa, child of Prehistory.

Workshop on a theme of your choice:

  • – Prehistoric arts (sculpture, musical instruments, making of ornaments),

– The life of hunter-gatherers (leather weapons and equipment) or the prehistoric camp (clothing, tents and bags made of skin, sewing with a bone needle).

Sensory tour of the museum to discover the site, the environment and prehistoric objects, presentation of human evolution through casts of skulls and reproductions of prehistoric tools.

Please note: A registered and classified historical monument, the archaeological site converted into an archaeological and botanical park adjacent to the museum is not accessible to people with reduced mobility or to visitors with mobility difficulties.

The museum has two reserved parking spaces for people with disabilities, located immediately in front of the entrance to make your visit easier. Please ask the reception staff for free access to visitor assistance tools, depending on your disability.
