All roads lead to the Grand Site

About ten kilometers west of Mâcon, the Grand Site is located at the crossroads of numerous traffic routes. By train, by car, by bus or by bike, all routes can take you in the footsteps of Prehistory, in the heart of sublime landscapes. The museum and the Maison du Grand Site will be closed on December 25th and 1st.er January

Good to know
  • The ascent of the Roche is done on foot, without major difficulty: 4 km / difference in altitude of 100 m. The path has many steps, it is not accessible by bike, strollers etc. A series of reading tables invites you to explore the multiple facets of the place.
  • The information point is located at the Maison du Grand Site, at the foot of the Roche de Solutré
  • A picnic area is available on site
  • All activities can be booked online
  • Parking outside the two car parks located at the foot of the Roche de Solutré is not permitted.

 

Camping and motorhome

To preserve the site, camping is not authorized. However, within the perimeter of the classified site, covering the communes of Solutré-Pouilly and Vergisson, motorhomes are welcome during the day in the P2 car park at La Roche de Solutré. To spend the night, discover the campsite offers and motorhome areas located near the Grand Site, particularly at Prized, Serrières, Pierreclos and Mâcon. Access and transport
  • Coming by train : two stations welcome you to Mâcon, a town close to the Grand Site. Mâcon city and Mâcon-Loché TGV. Prepare your journey.
