Spirit of the place are you there?
« The notion of spirit of place is used to designate the particular personality of each Grand Site. This specific personality is based on tangible and intangible characteristics, which are part of an objective and partly sensitive appreciation of the place, on the part of the person who experiences it. »
Extract from the document “Common values of the Grand Sites de France”It is indeed a unique spirit that we are talking about here. The one we live, the one we feel, the one we remember.
Iconic landscape
The diversity of entities of the “ great landscape » particularly characterizes the Grand Site de France Solutré Pouilly Vergisson. In this singular panorama, the cliffs Workspace with their limestone lawns, the regular frames of vineyards on the slopes, the afforestation covering the summits of certain mountains and hillsides, and the meadows in the valley floors. Located in the middle of the vineyard, villages and hamlets chant this landscape and contribute to its identity with the omnipresent use of limestone.
